A Father’s Love

One of the most striking features of the good news of Jesus Christ is the revelation that the God of heaven and earth not only desires for us to be reconciled to Him but that we would be called His children and He our Father.  This truth is perhaps best expressed through the gospel of John which more than any other gospel highlights the relationship between the Father and the Son.  Jesus truly revealed that right standing with God is most perfectly expressed through the loving relationship of a parent and a child.  While the relationship with sin is slavery, relationship with God is adoption as sons and daughters.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” – 1 Jo 3:1 NIV

Finally, “No Longer Slaves” by Bethel, a song that captures the beauty of this new relationship.
